a recap of day 7.... ontario to horseshoe bend

we made it to horseshoe bend id last night... after a 13+ mile detour up a steep hill to a gravel road that was partially underwater... had to turn around and get back on the highway.  we have lost faith in both google and garmin to direct us in the hills.  at least it got our hearts pumping with that 11% grade.  as soon as we got to the top of the hill, a rancher told us we best turn around or else navigate 11 miles of gravel, partially submerged in water.

was a great day otherwise.  once we got back on the hwy, we just followed the payette river gently upstream until the river makes a dramatic u-turn (hence the horseshoe).  some highlights of our first day in idaho:
